Dr. Peter Ferrera is an Internal Medicine physician who is in private practice at St. Mary Medical Center. Dr. Ferrera was Chief of Medicine between 2004 and 2009 and is currently Medical Director of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. Dr. Ferrera has also been the Medical Director since 2003, at the Edgewater Skilled Nursing Facility. He attended medical school at the Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, Germany and completed his residency at the University of Nevada, Reno. He is fluent in German, Spanish, and English, and dabbles in learning Khmer.

His volunteer experience includes two MISSION to Cambodia and service to Pacific Shores Hematology Foundation as a board member.

He enjoys traveling and is passionate about helping people gain access to medical care.

In his spare time he likes to hike, road bike and travel.

The CHPAA medical mission is a family affair for Dr. Ferrera and it is not uncommon to see his family volunteer in the field.
