Carl D Werts, DDS FICD  FICOI FAGD

Dentist

Dr Werts is a Los Angeles native, currently living in Pasadena with his wife of 50 years, Melinda. His undergraduate degree is from UC Davis, and his Dental degree is from Georgetown University, where his father received his medical degree 40 year prior.

Dr Werts holds Fellowships from the International College of Dentists, International Congress of Oral Implantology, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr Werts had his own General Dentistry practice for over 45 years and recently passed the reins to his associate. He is now enjoying semi-retirement working only 2 days a week without the pressures of business ownership. With the new available time Dr Werts has joined the volunteers at End of Life Choices California to help the terminally ill enact their final wishes under the guidelines of the End of Life Act of 2016.

In years past Dr Werts was an avid rock and ice climber, and a high-altitude mountaineer climbing peaks in Alaska, Mexico, Bolivia, France, New Zealand, Colorado, the Pacific Northwest volcanoes, and the ultimate achievement, summiting a 22,500’ peak in Himalaya of Nepal, Ama Dablam.

Since 2008, Dr Werts has been committed to Dental Volunteerism going monthly for over 16 years to LA Christian Health Centers serving the downtown Skid Row and immigrant communities. The desire to serve also included going on international missions to China, Guatemala, El Salvador, and joining CHPAA on 5 missions to Cambodia. The volunteers of CHPAA have become family and he is immensely proud to be a part of the team.
